Conservatorships

Conservatorships in California include both a general Conservatorship and a Limited Conservatorship.  In a general Conservatorship the Court determines whether an adult lacks sufficient capacity to self-care or requires the Court to appoint a Conservator to act to conserve the person and/or estate of the adult. A Limited Conservatorship is a similar proceeding appropriate only for adults who, prior to becoming an adult, suffered from a disability that affects their ability to self-care and who are Clients of a Regional Center.
